How many “Promos”, “Interested” people do you get about wanting to read your books?

Have you received those cold outreach? It’s nothing more than that, and there is of course no interest, and no real promo because you can know for sure that they would do nothing more than take your money.

Money that indie authors don’t usually have to be spending on fake reviews, which would also damage your ratings.

I have received in my DMs a bunch of these messages, claiming to be “interested” in reading in my books, if they were they would go and buy the book.

Here’s a fun story for you, in case you have thought about replying to these messages. I once did reply, just for the sake of it, knowing full well that it was fake, and told them that they were welcome to go to Kindle and get a copy, they didn’t even try to respond to that, they just said yes, I charge $XX for the review and however extra it was for the price of the book.

It was lovely. NOT!

Why, in the name of Lucifer, would I even consider that? Some of my characters would have that type of thought. In any case, don’t fall for it if you see it.

I mean, sure, some people might do that for a living, I guess, but if it is not an honest review but a paid one, or if you pay them, then you expect it to be a good review, but what if they scam you and leave a 1-star review? It could happen, or you could end up moneyless and reviewless. Also, that is not good for your book sales and if you are discovered, it is even more terrible.

That’s just my opinion, I prefer honesty and real readers.
