Music while Writing

Hello, lovely ones! How are you today?

I was going to mention the songs from one of the books but then thought about how I write and listen to some tunes while at it, and how it could relax or spurt the writing forward.

I have several ways of approaching music while writing. It sort depends on the mood on the scene, the genre I’m writing in, the type of book, and so on.

For example, if I’m writing a fantasy piece, I sometimes like to listen to Folkish music, instrumental, orchestral, Celtic, bagpipes, Fairy-type thing, it actually varies a lot because they are not all the same. It can also have a Metal, Rock, Symphonic feel to it, it gets me into the mood of magical settings.

If it is for a normal, urban, even romantic book, then it does change and depends a lot on how I’m feeling, but what works goes from Piano classics to Indie Dance to artists I don’t know or cannot understand (French, German, Italian) so I will not sing along but I will enjoy the music all the same. I use Youtube and Radiotunes, which is an Internet Radio simply, music all day long with tons of channels. 

How about you? Do you listen to some tunes while typing furiously? I actually have to put on the headphones to shout out everything else, and let the words flow.
