What is your favorite holiday? Why is it your favorite?
That’s not a holiday? It is for me!
Halloween is the best, and not just because of my birthday.
It has a great history and it’s in the Fall 🍁 that’s enough for me! 😚🐱
I have not celebrated Halloween since I was a child but as an adult I am more into it and love decorating and if I do a photoshoot it’s always with a costume or makeup.
Other than that, you must all know about Samhain, right?
That is that Halloween has ancient roots tracing back over 2,000 years. Back to the Celtic festivals, or rather the festival Samhain, which was celebrated on October 31st. It marked the end of summer and the harvest season, and the beginning of winter, a time often associated with death. Celts believed that on the night before Samhain, the boundary between the living and the dead blurred, allowing spirits to roam the earth. And so, to ward off these spirits, people would light bonfires and wear costumes.
So, that part is even greater to love this time of year. I love witches! But also ancient things that nobody talks about anymore. 😍
