Why I decided to stop being exclusive to KU

Hello, lovelies! ❄️

This was no easy decision for me. But I decided to stop having some of my books exclusively on KU (The KDP program), why? Because it made no sense, no profit, and no nothing to me.

I get more exposure on other platforms then I get on Amazon Kindle, and when I do get ‘reads’ and the revenue is transferred to my account I get very little after commissions. But that’s not all, and also, when I say little I’m being generous, last time I got $0.00 and Amazon might say that’s not their fault and that was my bank, but I don’t care, they should create a new type of payment method, wait to transfer or ask me if I wanted it, I would have said no because it was not worth it, and I lost money there.

In any case, I don’t get a steady revenue from my book sales as of right now, and that’s life. That’s why I have a muggle job. The point is that KU was bringing me nothing, you can only do some a handful of ‘promo’ or deals on Amazon every 90 days, and I have started to believe that my real audience is outside of Amazon. Those of you who did get my books on KU or any other way on the platform, I thank you, but the rest comes from other online bookstores.

In any case, I realised that I was denying other readers by limiting to KU when not everyone is there, and they want me to be exclusive for little benefits. So, I decided to publish my books to all the other platforms, bookstores, online stores, anywhere who wants it. Universal links are now here for my books. And of course, my social media are still there, and I’m thankful to those getting a copy of my books on Smashwords as well, it means the world to me. I’m not leaving Amazon just yet, just the KDP program. After February, probably, the books will only be able through regular Kindle or Paperback.

That’s all from me, just wanted to give you a heads-up in and to share my thoughts on it.

Thank you for stopping by, and don’t forget to follow the blog and my social media for more on my books and on writing. I always appreciate it. 🙂☃️
