Do you Use Maps? Mapping?

Hello, lovelies! ✍️

Welcome, once more! You might be a bit shocked that I’m posting more, but hey, no reason, just wanted to share some writing insights from my side.

So, when writing or having an idea do you write a map of the story first? Do you know what I mean? Mapping out the story, what will happen on each chapter or part, where you want the characters to go, and all of that plotting. 😄

I do, sometimes. It depends on the book, sometimes, mostly with fantasy I sit down and think, where is this going to go? And then start to plan or map if you will, but at times, there’s a problem with this, if you’re not going to write it straight away, and it is that this plot, storyline, map, whatever you want to call it, well, it will stay written and not developed, it has happened to me at times.

This is why, there’s the other part of me, the other writer that just sit downs writes and allows the characters to lead, whatever they want to do, wherever they want to go, I’ll let them. And then, this is when I go back a few pages, days later, and say, wow, who wrote this? I don’t recall it, and it sometimes a good thing, and others it comes out a bit all over the place, but that can be fixed easily with some editing.

But, yes, I do both things because I have found both processes to be helpful. The important thing is to write, right? So some people say, so I try to write every day, and if not, every other night, depending on what my dumb muggle job lets me do.

That’s it for now, I wanted to check with all of you writers out there about your process, do you have one? Do you plan out your stories or let the words flow? They’re both valid, and all writers have their own process, everyone actually.

Thanks for stopping by, it means a lot, and I hope you’ll check more of my thoughts here on the blog, and if you like my books, there are some free ones on Kindle, and others that have a special discount on Smashwords until the end of the month.

Have a lovely day! 😎
