Innocence short-story writing: At the beginning

Hey, lovelies!

It’s been a while, I am aware. Hope you are back here with me too. 🌞

Heavens, the title of this one, sounds like I’m going to talk about a story and the innocent beginning of it. Not.

This is about how funny I think of myself sometimes, how I innocently (sarcastic comment) start a story and think that I will keep it short but before I realised I had almost fifty pages going and was not near close to finishing writing.

Oh, you must know I had all intentions of writing it that short, a quick fun back-story for Living Among Others, and then yesterday I was scrolling down the document and saw it was already 40+ almost 50 pages long, I found that hilarious.

I’m not changing it of course, and I do not regret one page of it, and it’s mostly a draft, which might turn into an edited final ebook, but yes, I began writing it so full of yes-finally-writing-this-short-story and having it turn into wow-I-didn’t-know-they-ll-have-so-much-to-say. That’s how it went.

So, yes, I’m writing about five stories at the same time, and one of those, which I started recently it’s a prequel to Living Among Others, which was my first book, back in 2015, wow, almost ten years old. I never thought I’ll have a book turn almost a decade soon, hopefully by the time it does I’ll have a lot more books published.

This prequel will also be an urban sort of fantasy, but more a romance, less spicy than my other books, and filled with all the doubts of finding that first love. No title yet, but I think I’ll release it as a December story, it’s looking more and more in that direction. It won’t be 300 pages long like LAO, I think maybe 100 or less, depending on how things progress with them. I mean the characters, yes.

I know that amount of pages is still short, but I want to write a 20-50 pages story one of these days, and see how that goes. Maybe I will.

For now, this is it, I wanted to share some of the writing progress for late 2022, after the year I had, I really hope to get more support from this wonderful community, and that if new writers stumble upon my blog, they can know that indie authors are out there, trying to make it, not all of us are successful and known, but if I did it for the money, I’ll be leaving on the streets. I write because I love it, and I publish those stories because I hope someone would love them as much as I do. 🌻

Got carried away there for a moment. 😄 Thank you for reading this one and I’d love it if you come back for more, don’t forget to visit my book review blog too, and know more about my main life beyond the pen name.

You can also visit my IG and Twitter too, and we can connect over there.

Cheers! ⭐️
