Hello, lovelies! How’s your day? Mine is somewhat cold since I live close to a mountain and it always rains, but I prefer it.
So, for today, I wanted to chat about the sequels and whether to plan or not or if you plan it or not. I normally don’t, but somehow (lately), I end up writing more than what I originally planned because the stories keep moving forward, so yes, I don’t always plan it.
There is a sequel though that I have tried and wanted to write for over five years. The one for Living Among Others, and lately I have thought about it more and more, but I know that at least for this one time, I’ll have to do a map, at least of the first part of it because I have too many ideas of it, and the maps help me carry out the story.
I’m writing a sequel for Coveted Hearts as well, but it was because after finishing part one, I immediately thought of two scenes that could be developed, but one was like three years in the future, and the other one right after the end of book 1, so I decided to forge on with it, I wrote a paragraph for the third part, named it, and then opened another doc and started writing down the second part for this book, which will now be a trilogy. News, News.
Sequels are fun to write, I have always thought that because I don’t like endings, so I like writing and writing about my characters and as long as they continue to talk to me, I will continue to write about them.
What about on your end? Do you prefer writing sequels or stand-alone are fine? 👀
Let me know in the comments. Thank you for reading and for coming back if you have been here before, if you’re new to the blog, welcome! 😀
