Hijacked by Characters

Hello, everyone!

Good evening! Good morning! Good day!

I hope you are staying safe and sane. I know I’m trying to, this is not about the latest in the world though, it is about how some characters or stories will keep you prisoner until you finished them.

I recently finished a quick story about characters that were born in one of my latest Series (Serious Misbehaviours), I had the story about those two characters rounding in my head for a few weeks more like months, and finally decided to give it a go and see how it pan out, oh boy! Little did I know that I would be writing the story for days, in every free moment until they decided to let me know the name of the title (I didn’t even have that one) and also what they wanted to express, how their story would evolve, quick and to the point. I didn’t go around to other characters much, I focused as much as it was possible on them and before I knew it, I had 20+ pages, it is a lot, trust me, because I thought there was not much to say about them. I was wrong.

And so they had me hijacked for days, solely thinking of them while trying to think of ways for the other books to evolve, but it was no good until does final moments were written, now I know I can continue their story some more but the initial draft is over and I can concentrate on the rest of the series.

So tell me, has this happened to you? When you write a story, you go all in? Or can stop and continue later? I hope you felt somewhat identified with this one or at least it gave you a small distraction.

Thank you for stopping by and I really hope that wherever you are, you are staying safe and zen about it all.

Until the next one.
