Finishing a Story

Hello, everyone!

It has been a while, I know. A long while, yes, I hear you.

I only have to say that I have been working on a couple of new stories, and it is not always easy.

I know I tend to disappear from the blog and then reappear without much notice, but here I am, I will love to tell you that all this time, I have been doing nothing but write, sadly, that would be a big lie, I have been working, you will see a little note on that on my new book that is coming up this month thank the Lord.

Let us talk a little about finishing a story.

Finishing a story that you never thought would turn out to be so long, so exquisite, so incredibly consuming, with characters that suddenly do whatever the heck they want, and new plots coming at you in the middle of a midnight writing session is something of a challenge, but you forge forward and try to finish the story as fast as you can, or like me, you let it flow until it is done and ready to be edited.

Even though I suck at writing endings (because I don’t like them, I like the stories to go on), I try to give it an edge, and half a cliffhanger so that maybe in the future, I will get back on the horse and write a sequel or prequel or side-story.

There are other moments, like with this last book, where I just wrote everything and then decided to make it into another book, and write also a side-story and a prequel, and the POV of one of the characters in the book, some of this will be on my next post, don’t worry, it won’t be a year before I publish another post, I am really trying to keep the blog, my social media and my books alive for you guys, but day job that pays the bills is a difficult thing to fight.

All we can do is try, all we can do is keep on writing, and keep on that story going until it is finished.

That’s my tip for this one, just keep writing until it is done or until the characters decide to stop talking for a while, then give it some time and go back at it when you feel that urge to write again.

I hope you stayed to the end, and if you did, don’t forget to share (if you feel in the mood), go to my IG and follow or simply let me know if you are writing to your heart’s content. Either way, I hope you have a nice day and that you come back for more.

Happy 2020!

PS: A little late for that, I know.
